Cake Bites
1 Boxed Cake Mix (your choice of flavor)1 Tub of Ready made Frosting (your choice of flavor)
1 lb. of Chocolate used to melt (I use Guittard Chocolate Apeels)
First you start with any kind of boxed cake mix that you would like to make. Make the cake as directed on the package. (Cake mixes can be jazzed up to be a little more dense by adding milk instead of water and melted butter instead of the oil. Try it and see if you like the consistency). For these little delicious gems, I make the cake as directed because I will be adding frosting later which makes these dense enough.
Bake the cake in a 9 x 13 pan. After it has completely cooled, cut the cake into fourths. Pick up two parts in your hands and rub them together over a large bowl. You are basically making crumbs so do it however you want. I read in a magazine how Bakerella does it and she rubs the cake pieces together, so that's what I did. Pick up the other two pieces of the cake and do the same thing.
Once you have a bowlful of chocolate cake crumbs, add the tub of frosting and mix it all together. It should look like the picture below once it is all mixed in.
