Tomato, Macaroni, and Cheese Casserole
8 oz. Elbow Macaroni
1 lb. Hamburger
1 C. Onion
Salt (Four or Five shakes)
Pepper (Two or Three shakes)
28 oz. Canned Tomatoes
1/2 C. Ketchup
8 oz. Tomato Sauce
1 tsp. Basil
1 tsp. Oregano
2 C. Cheddar Cheese, grated
Start a large pot of water to boil on stove. Add macaroni when water boils. Add 1 Tbsp. salt to water. Cook for 12 - 14 minutes.
Cut up onion and brown with hamburger while macaroni is cooking. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add tomatoes, ketchup and tomato sauce along with basil and oregano. Once all this is bubbling well in your pan, lower the temperature to simmer until noodles are done.
Drain macaroni and add to the hamburger mixture. Add cheese and fold in until it is melted. This freezes well.
